Windows 7 Drivers and Upgrade
Basically this model does support Windows 7 with Intel Pentium 4 Processor and 1GB maximum RAM. By default this model only shipped with 256MB or 512MB of RAM, so you need to upgrade the RAM first before upgrade, if not you n610c won't be able to run Windows 7.

Now let's move to Windows 7 drivers, what drivers does it need? Normally Windows 7 will try to install the drivers for your hardware base on previous information provided by Windows XP (upgrade form xp to 7). However, if you make a clean windows 7 installation (reformat the drive before windows 7 installation) windows 7 will be unable to get enough information on your specific hardware. So, here is the simple rule to obtain all the driver you need for Windows 7:

1. If your audio, wireless and any other hardware works, it means the driver for those hardware already installed so you doesn't have to install the driver for it. Example, your heard sound when playing music, no need to install the audio driver.

2. Run Windows Automatic update and download and install any updates for your device driver.

3. If there are any driver missing (how to check- read here) - or you need it, just download form the list below:

Since ADI use the AC97 audio architechture, which is similar with Realtek AC97 audio, so we just need to download the realtek AC97 from the realtek Website : Download form Realtek

Wireless
We will install the wireless driver using the same method to install the graphic.
Download the windows xp driver.

1. Install the driver , ignore the error (we just want to extract the driver file to C:\swsetup\sp29156)
2. Open device manager, look for network marked with yellow, right click and select update driver.
3. Select browse my computer for driver software.
4. Select browse and point to C:\swsetup\sp29156\Driver\w2kxp
5. Continue with on screen instruction until installation finish.

LAN/Ethernet:

Automatically Installed in Windows 7.

That's all the driver you need for windows 7, if you still wnat to use the modem, install the modem windows xp driver using the same method to install wireless driver.

Compaq EVO D150 also known as Compaq 510 SFF (Small Form Factor) originally design for windows XP. The original drivers and application is available on Hp website.

Compaq Presario V2623TS Windows 7/XP Drivers

Compaq Presario V2623TS originally released during Windows XP Era and comes with Free DOS No further support for Windows Vista or Windows 7 by Hewlett Packard. This model best with a 32-bit operating system since it only support only up to 2GB DDR2 SDRAM 333MHz. By default, only 256Mb RAM installed wit 60GB DMA ATA HDD. So f you plan to upgrade into Windows 7 here are the drivers you will need.

Recommended Operating System :
Windows XP 32-bit and Windows 7 32-bit. Don't Install 64-bit operating system because 64-bit require 4GB of RAM, If you did installed 64-bit it will decrease your V2623TS performance.

HP Compaq nx9030 Windows 7/XP Drivers

HP only released windows xp drivers for this model. If you plan to upgrade into Windows 7, you will see certain drivers not installed since most hardware (from Intel) no longer support Windows 7. So here  I posted the drivers you will need for Windows 7. For windows xp, there are some drivers not listed on HP download site, normally if a driver not listed mean it is automatic or not required, but I doubt that so I added drivers for graphic and chipset (the driver for graphic and chipset for Windows xp is available on HP database but it just not listed for nx9030.) If you want to see the driver released from HP, just go to the Hp support and select - support - drivers - Laptops - HP compaq Notebook PC - HP 9000 and you will see nx9030 is on the list.  The original drivers released is similar from what I listed here, only the graphic and chipset is missing form the download list.

Base on my experience, Hp didn't list the webcam driver for model which the webcam driver automatically installed along windows installation. Compaq Presario V3000 Windows 8 Drivers and Upgrade

Compaq Presario V3000 originally released with Windows Vista and can be upgraded to Windows 7 without problems. If you plan to upgrade to windows 8, here I will describe in details about the hardware, drivers and certain issues after upgrading to Windows 8.

Installing Windows 8 and System Requirements.
1. You can choose either to make a fresh installation or if you already have windows 7 installed, you can use Windows 8 upgrade.
2. System Requirements: Windows 8 require at least 1GB of RAM, and base on users experience Compaq Presario V3000 meet the minimum requirement for Windows 8.

Overheating Problem
The heat problem was common among V3000 series, the temperature increase base on the following operating system:
Windows XP < Windows 7 < Windows 8 < Windows Vista

Solution: (You can choose one of this method)
1. Clean your on board fan (you can choose to do it yourself or send it to shop which normally cost you about ~$5, at my place it cost about MYR15 ~ $3).
2. Get an external USB Fan, place it near to the top left side of your keyboard. (This trick work most of the time). This method also prevent auto shut down during Windows Installation.
3. Get a new motherboard (cost around $80-$130)

NO! base on my experience installing windows 8 in this model, all drivers automatically installed.

HP Pavilion g6-1d40nr Drivers and Details

This notebook officially released for Windows 7 and Windows 8 (both 64-bit operating system). By default it have 6GB of RAM which can be upgraded to 8GB max. i strongly recommend to use windows 7 64-bit or windows 8-bit for this product. Avoid using windows XP since Windows 7 perform faster and better. Don;t use 32-bit operating system because it uses 6GB of RAM, If you use 32-bit operating system your notebook will only use 4GB of RAM and in your computer properties it will state "6GB of RAM (4GB Usable)".
